Spark will held on Friday, March 20 from 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM.
Eligibility
All East Carolina University students, including both undergraduate and graduate, are welcome to participate.
Tracks
- Beginner Track: Perfect for first-time hackathon participants! Open to first and second years in the Computer Science or Software Engineering programs, as well as all students in other majors.
- General Track: Our main track for first-place bragging rights. Open to anyone who has not submitted to the Beginner track.
- AWS Track: Teams may optionally submit to the AWS Track individually or in addition to either the Beginner or General Track. Submissions must include an AWS technology, and teams should be prepared to explain how and why it was used.
Prizes
- Beginner Track: Cat tumbler and Raspberry Pi
- General Track: LEGO Game Boy set and Raspberry pi
- AWS Track: AWS swag for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place AND an Amazon Echo for 1st place
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
Projects will be judged by ECU instructors and AWS volunteers. Students should be able to explain their product idea, what technology they used, and their design processes. Projects do not have to be finished.
